During the International Conference on Silicon Carbide and Related Materials (ICSCRM 2022) held in Davos, Switzerland, Zadient Technologies marked a pivotal moment in its early company history. Company leadership, including CEO Kagan Ceran and CTO Dr. Jan Richter, engaged in high-level discussions with all major global SiC wafer manufacturers to present their novel approach to producing high purity SiC source materials.

In a highly competitive and technically demanding market, Zadient’s innovative deposition and purification strategies for monolithic SiC source material stood out. As a result, several leading SiC wafer producers—key players in the power electronics supply chain—committed to initiating qualification programs with Zadient. These programs represent the critical first step toward full customer adoption of the material and reflect a deep level of trust in both the quality of the product and the robustness of Zadient’s production roadmap.

“Establishing such partnerships at this early stage is a strong endorsement of our technology and our commitment to deliver high-quality, scalable SiC source material,” said Kagan Ceran, CEO of Zadient Technologies. “We’re happy to have received such validation from industry leaders who understand the immense challenge and importance of introducing a new material into this high-performance sector.”

The qualification of SiC source materials is especially stringent, given their application in the automotive industry, where devices must meet the highest standards for reliability, performance, and consistency. The willingness of global SiC wafer manufacturers to engage with Zadient—a startup at the time—demonstrates the high perceived value of Zadient’s novel production technology, as well as the importance of establishing secure, diversified, and high-quality supply chains for this strategic material.

“Qualification in this industry isn’t just about meeting specs—it’s about demonstrating long-term reliability and commitment,” added Dr. Jan Richter, CTO of Zadient Technologies. “These early qualification agreements show that our approach resonates with what the market truly needs: purity, predictability, and innovation.”
This early momentum has fueled Zadient’s continued investment into R&D, pilot production, and industrial partnerships, with the company now operating a production site in Germany.
